What this Plugin Makes Possible
It used to be all the rage to suppress identifying version information from the URLs embedded in login pages and such, with some significant debate as to whether doing so achieved anything at all in terms of security. Later, some WordPress developers seemed to come down pretty hard on the very notion of users wanting to suppress version information.
Without taking any particular view as to the relative merits of suppressing such information or leaving it for all to say, I do take the view that individual site owners ought to be able to do whatever they want to do in terms of displaying or not displaying such information, regardless of what the powers that be think they ought to do. So, this plugin was created to strip out the version information.
